The 2023 Styrkeprøven has received the necessary permits

We can hereby inform all our participants that Styrkeprøven will be organized as planned on Saturday 17. June. We have received the necessary permits to organize races from the starting points in Trondheim, Lillehammer, Hamar and Eidsvoll.

There has been a long period of uncertainty as to whether the road authorities would give us permission to organize our traditional tour ride. Styrkeprøven has been organized since 1967 with the exception of the pandemic years 2020 and 2021. This evening, fortunately, there was a decision from the road authorities which means that we can arrange.

The police impose a massive guard in connection with Styrkeprøven Styrkeprøven 2023. There must be many police guards, police motorcycles and far more stationary guards (not police, but approved trail guards with courses). In recent years, we have received orders from the police to reduce the number of stationary guards because the participants should not perceive it as a free way, but that the traffic rules apply as normal. This year, this has turned around so that the need for security guards along the entire route is absolutely necessary. These costs, and especially the costs for the police, will result in a significant deficit in connection with the event. The number of registered participants is now lower than it has been for many years. So even if the road authorities allow the event to take place, all the vigilance that is imposed will mean that the event may not be able to survive in the future.

We have not received permission to cycle E6 from Hvam and then further on Østre Aker road into the finish area Vallhall Arena. The road authorities have decided that the cycle race will end at Hellerudsletta.

As an organizer, we have no opportunity to get a good target area in place here so short a time before the event, which at the same time gives the participants a good solution for alternative transport into Oslo.

Furthermore, it has been said by the road authorities that cyclists who have to enter the Vallhall Arena must cycle on footpaths and cycle paths up to Gjelleråsen and further along Rv4 (Trondheimsveien) also on footpaths and cycle paths.

This means that we as organizers have to find the best route into Vallhall Arena that goes on as many walking and cycling routes as possible. Therefore, we have to spend some time deciding which roads we want to mark and recommend to our participants to use.

Important reminder to all our participants:

Safety in a touring race is important, both for participants, organisers, spectators and other road users. The responsibility for ensuring that safety in the race is ensured lies with both the organizer and the participants. Styrkeprøven follows a track that is open to normal traffic where normal traffic rules apply.

Escort cars are not permitted in Styrkeprøven . In this context, by companion car we mean all cars that provide assistance to the riders. Cars that transport food, drinks, front cars, cars that transport clothes, cars that transport equipment, wheeled cars, cars that accept clothes or glasses etc. Riders associated with such vehicles risk disqualification. Only the organizer has permission to provide assistance to the participants.

In relation to the previously announced route for Trondheim – Oslo, there are some changes:

Støren : All participants must cycle off E6 just before Støren. The ride goes over the Håggåbrua and onto county road 630 to the center of Støren. Right after Støren railway station, Svartøya is cycled towards Gaula, before the participants use Soknesøran along the E6 to Liøya, where the E6 should be continued.

The stretch Hafjell – Lillehammer: The route in 2023 will be the same as in 2022, that is, from Hafjell, Gudbrandsdalslågen will be crossed to the west via Fv319 (Granerudmoen). The participants then come to Jørstadmoen and on to Vingnes. The route goes over the Vingnesbrua to Lillehammer. Then follow Fv213 (Hamarvegen) further towards Moelv.

All participants from Trondheim, Lillehammer and Hamar will have a new route in 2023, except for Eidsvoll works and Råholt. When the participants reach the roundabout Trondheimsvegen/Fv181 Eidsvollvegen, everyone must turn left at the roundabout onto Eidsvollvegen. Follow this until you turn right onto Finstadvegen (just before the bridge over the Vorma). Finstadvegen is followed all the way to Dal station and then onto Trondheimsvegen again.
