Styrkeprøven has previously required the participants to have a license from the cycling association to take part in the race. This is not the case for 2024.

In connection with the fact that we changed timers in the autumn, a problem arose that we had not previously been aware of. In the NCF’s regulations for tour rides § 1 it is stated (excerpt):

• Turritt is one of the Norwegian Cycling Association’s (through regions and clubs) offers to all those interested in cycling, and aims to be an inspiration for exercise and training.
• The organizer of the tour must be affiliated with the NCF.

As a limited company Styrkeprøven is not part of the sports organization itself. Only organizational units, such as clubs, regions and confederations, are part of the cycling confederation’s riding regulations.

Insurance/one-off licenses only apply to activities under the auspices of the cycling association. We therefore do not have the opportunity to sell NCF’s licensed product at the moment. NCF’s year-round license therefore does not apply to our events either.

Styrkeprøven AS cannot therefore carry out the tour in accordance with the NCF’s tour ride regulations or sell NCF’s licensed products, because we are not a sports team. We also don’t think it’s just a matter of changing a few lines in a regulation and in an insurance policy to sort this out. This concerns what is part of the sport and thus subject to the special association’s regulations.

That is why this year we are offering participants in Styrkeprøven and our other events insurance from Startklar. You can read more about this here https://startklarnordic.info/ . It is valid for one year for all sports events you participate in. We believe it covers what you as a participant need. Most people who have travel insurance will hardly need this insurance. But you have to check that yourself by reading the terms of your insurance. If you already have satisfactory insurance cover, you do not need to take out additional insurance to participate in Styrkeprøven . To avoid this becoming very expensive for those who have a year-round license from NCF, we offer a discount for them on Startklar for 2024.

We are working together with NCF to look at opportunities for us to again offer their licenses and use their riding regulations in our events.
