In a post on Instagram, he shares that he will cycle Trondheim-Oslo on Saturday. This will be his first ride after he retired as a professional cyclist with a gold medal in the cycling WC in 2021. In total in his career, he has won a total of four World Cup golds, an Olympic silver during the London Olympics in 2012 and two World Cup bronze medals. In other words, it is one of the best tempo riders of all time who will get to experience Norway’s most traditional touring race this weekend.

Martin writes that he only participates for fun, and without ambitions to go for victory. Nevertheless, it is hard to believe that it will not go quickly from Trondheim to Oslo for the German cycling star. Further in the post, he also writes that he is looking forward to experiencing beautiful Norway by bike.

So then it only remains to say; Welcome, Tony Martin! What an honor.
