By Styrkeprøven

In 2026, the Styrkeprøven will be held on the weekend 20. – June 21. Historically, Styrkeprøven has been held on the weekend closest to St. Hans Eve, i.e. the third or fourth weekend in June. This will also be the case in 2026.
Styrkeprøven 2026 – a bright and legendary summer weekend!
Styrkeprøven 2026 will be held this weekend 20.-21. Junejust as tradition dictates – on the weekend closest to St. Hans Eve. This has always been the natural time for Styrkeprøven, and 2026 will be no exception.
On Saturday, June 20, the event kicks off in Trondheim – under a sun that rises as early as 3:02 a.m. and does not set in Oslo until 3:30 p.m. 22:43. We hope for a long, bright and unforgettable summer day (and night) for all participants embarking on the classic journey south towards the capital.
Plan early – there’s a lot going on this weekend!
The weekend offers several major events in both Trondheim and Lillehammer, so we recommend everyone to book accommodation and travel early.

The route – small adjustments, same amazing experience
After the introduction of the new route in 2024 over Folldal and Venabygdsfjellet to Ringebu, there will be few changes in 2026. We will also continue to cycle on the west side of Lake Mjøsa – via Biri, Gjøvik, Skreia and Feiring.
Work is underway on a new E6 route near Lillehammer, which may affect us somewhat, but we are very satisfied with the solution we have today – also south of Eidsvoll, past Råholt, which became new in 2025.
Feedback from participants has been very positive.
However, we are considering making some adjustments to the finish area and where the ride time will be stopped.
Good feedback – and high expectations
After Styrkeprøven 2025, we have received a lot of valuable feedback from participants. We will of course take this with us to make the experience even better in 2026.
With the usual proviso that the road authorities approve the event, we warmly welcome everyone to a new edition of Styrkeprøven – a tradition, a challenge and an experience of a lifetime.
Registration is now open!
