Styrkeprøven 2026 has now received all the necessary permits. Unfortunately, this came too late to be able to carry out all distances in a responsible and safe manner. This year we will therefore only run the Lillehammer-Oslo and Eidsvoll-Oslo distances. We have received clear signals that next year’s event will receive the necessary approvals in good time.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has contributed constructively to a rapid clarification of the case. Despite the demanding course of events, we would like to thank the agency for the efforts that made this possible. At the same time, we are disappointed that the clarifications came too late for Trondheim-Oslo to be carried out in a responsible and good way this year.

The rejection we previously received was appealed, and our appeal was fully upheld. The matter was also raised politically, which contributed to a faster and solution-oriented process where the necessary permits were put in place. The document that formed the basis for the rejection has now been removed, and we hope this can contribute to a brighter future for Norwegian cycling.

The police still maintain their view that the race should not be held. At the same time, the police have said for several years that they do not want any dialogue about the safety of the Styrkeprøven event. This makes the work with Styrkeprøven very difficult. As an organizer, we are dependent on an open and constructive dialogue with the police. Styrkeprøven hopes this will also become a reality.

We are now looking ahead to Lillehammer – Oslo and Eidsvoll – Oslo this year. Work on Styrkeprøven 2027 is already well underway, and the dates have been set for June 18-20, 2027. We have received clear signals that next year’s event will receive the necessary approvals in good time. We look forward to a constructive collaboration with the authorities to find good solutions for the benefit of everyone on the roads.

We are now looking forward to organizing Lillehammer – Oslo and Eidsvoll – Oslo this year. We welcome riders, volunteers, partners and the public to this year’s event.
