For those who had planned Trondheim-Oslo this year

Dear cyclist,
Many of you who had planned to cycle Trondheim-Oslo this year have already made other plans after we were initially denied an event permit.
When we were later told that it would still be possible to organize, we quickly assessed the possibilities. However, Trondheim-Oslo is an event that requires extensive planning, staffing and safety work, and at such short notice it is not possible to get all this back on track and carry out the race in a safe and responsible manner this year.
The good news is that we have received clear signals that the Styrkeprøven can also be arranged in 2027, and we are working to have the necessary permits in place already this fall.
At the same time, we’ve received many inquiries from riders who were looking forward to Trondheim-Oslo this year – especially those of you who have ridden the race several times and are working towards personal milestones.
Therefore, we do the following:
If you complete a continuous bike ride of at least 520 km in Norway by the end of August 2026, we will register this as completing Styrkeprøven Trondheim-Oslo 2026.
It doesn’t have to be the regular Trondheim-Oslo route. In fact, you shouldn’t follow it all the way anyway, as there are stretches where cycling is not normally allowed. You can therefore also choose your own route, anywhere in Norway, as long as the trip is completed as one continuous journey. You can of course stop for food and rest along the way, but the trip cannot be divided into several stages with overnight stays in between.
For documentation, we accept, for example, photos from the start, route and finish, or activity logs from Garmin, Strava or similar, or other documentation showing that the trip has been completed. If you are unsure whether your program will be approved, just contact us before you ride at [email protected].
When Styrkeprøven was established, it was largely with a clear public health perspective – to inspire people to set goals, exercise and use their bikes actively. This is our way of keeping that idea alive in a year when the race cannot be organized as normal.
There is no registration and no participation fee. This is first and foremost intended as an offer to those of you who had planned to cycle Trondheim-Oslo this year, and especially to our loyal participants who return year after year.
We hope that many will take the opportunity to set a long goal this summer.
with cycling greetings
Styrkeprøven
