Den Store Styrkeprøven - The Great Trial of Strength. Das Königsrennens Europas. One of cyklings real classics. Feared and loved by riders for half a century. Nothing comes close to completing this race.
From 1967 until 2015 we have witnessed 105 845 rides from Trondheim to Oslo. This equals 57,1563 million kilometres or 1 428 circumnavigations around mother Earth.
We welcome you to the 51th edition of Styrkeprøven and promise you a race that will continue in the spirit of 1967, offer improvements from last year and present one or two surprises.
Registration and Payment
Click Register. You will be directed to our Registration and Timekeeping Partner - Ultimate Sport Service. Follow the menu for registration.
Changes to you your registration
When your initial registration is complete you will receive a link, a username and a password. Please use this link to reenter you registration and complete the changes as you see them fit. I.e. reserve a hotel room, buy a t-shirt or change your starting group. This is also used to sell your registration.
Transport (train) from Oslo to Trondheim
The train departs Oslo Central Station Jun 16th 2017 at 0802 hrs. Arrival in Trondheim 1443. You can order the train tickets for you and your bike when you complete a normal registration. Please note - delivery of your bike is at "Track 19" in Trelastgata. This is located at the south of the tracks at Oslo Central Station. You will be met by representatives from Strykeproven who will assist in bubble wrapping your bike before loading. The bike will be transported to Scandic Nidelven Hotel in Trondheim and will be there as you arrive in Trondheim.
Sell your Registration
You may sell your registration. The procedure is quite simple and consists of two steps, one for the seller and one for the buyer. The procedure as follows here.
The start in Trondheim
The start in Trondheim takes place in Munkegata, just outside Trondheim District Court in the Centre of Trondheim. The address is Munkegata 20, 7013 Trondheim.
The Secretariat in Trondheim is located in the lower level of Scandic Nidelven Hotel. The address to the hotel is Havnegata 1-3, 7010 Trondheim and the number is +47 7356 8000.
You will receive your start number from the Secretariat. We will also bring along unclaimed start numbers to the Start Area. The Start number with chip included shall be mounted / fixed to the seat post as per instructions.
Along with your Start number you will be furnished with two luggage tags. These are to be attached to your luggage. You must deliver your luggage at the start area to a visibly marked lorry / trailer. And, please note - transportation of your luggage is included in the Registration Fee.
To ride Trondheim – Oslo you must turn 17 in the calendar year 2017.
Annual license from the Norwegian Cycling Federation (NCF) or a Tour License (Temporary National Racing License) must be purchased. The Tour License is NOK 200,-

Selection of Start Groups
The riders in Styrkeprøven will rank and place themselves in Start Groups according to an expected time budget for the race. We would like to stress – select wisely and do not select groups with a lower time budget than you can manage. The ride will be a lot harder if you do so.
Particulars from Trondheim – if your time budget is between 24 and 36 hours – select the start on Friday evening. All the others – select a Saturday morning start.

Food Stops / Technical Service / Medical Support
Styrkeprøven has 9 food stops from Trondheim to Oslo. On these Food Stops you will meet representatives from various sports clubs or other organizations. They are all volunteers and extremely vital to our race. Most of them have been with us for many years and have experience if you are in need of advice.
In 2017 we will continue our popular upgraded food service. This includes vacuumed sandwiches and wraps from Bama. Freshly cut fruit and hot soup as you know it from Asko. Hot and cold drinks (including energy drinks) from The Coca-Cola Company.
All Food Stops also include Technical Service if your bike is in need of a little help. On the road we have 16 Peugeots which provides neutral service if you need help there and then.
A telephone number will be provided to call upon mobile assistance.
Service vehicles in Styrkeprøven is strictly forbidden. Vehicles driving behind riders and not showing will to pass will be stopped by the Police or the organizers. The riders being followed risk disqualification.
Medals / Diplomas
All riders completing any of the 5 distances will receive a medal where distance and year is inscribed. Diplomas will be available for you to print from our results service (USS).
